Trail section

Varberg - Åkulla

  • Length

    22 km

  • Degree of difficulty

    Moderate

An easy walk where the trail almost entirely follows an old railway embankment. The bulk of this section follows the old railway embankment along the Himleån river upwards to the Åkulla outdoor recreation area. The trail runs through the densely populated area and crosses the E6 roadway, and then enters open farming areas. Here hikers will find themselves in their own little world with its own special charm, in the heart of the local farmland. East of Rolfstorp, the nature of the trail changes to hillier and more thickly forested surroundings. The hiker enters the Åkulla area at Knutsböke.
