In Åkulla, there are two wind shelters with adjacent campsites. One is near Åkulla Outdoor Resort and one is about 150 metres out on an island in Yasjön, which can be reached by cable raft. The cable raft is in operation from 1 July to mid-October. In Ästad, Varberg Municipality is planning a new wind shelter that will be ready in spring 2020. Until this has been completed, hikers should turn to Ästad Vingård for overnight accommodation. For updated information, please contact Varberg Municipality.

Björkasjön’s fish conservation area consists of three lakes: Björkasjö, Mjällsjö and Rammsjö. Here, you can fish for pike, perch, roach and eel. Rudd are mainly to be found in Lake Björkasjön. The Central Halland fish protection area consists of 11 lakes: Byasjön, Grytsjön, Humsjön, Kalvsjön, Lillsjön, Ottersjön, Rörsjön, Stegasjön, Skärsjön, Valasjön and Älvasjön.
