Trail section
Äskhult - Stättared
-
Length
17 km
-
Degree of difficulty
Moderate
Before you go on, we recommend a visit to the village of Äskhult, built in the 1700s. The buildings and landscape show how small villages looked two hundred years ago. Hallandsleden crosses several peaks before leading down to the fertile Löftaån river valley. The rest of the hike goes through quite hilly terrain among both deciduous and evergreen trees, up to the nutrient-poor, clear lake of Stora Hornsjö. Sometimes you are walking on bare rock.
