The hike starts from the iconic beach of Tylösand, where you can see the distinctive lifeguard tower standing as a reassuring symbol of safety. From here, the trail leads you out onto Tyludden, a scenic headland with a stunning view of Tylön island and the famous four-kilometre sandy beach. With a fresh sea breeze and sweeping views, it is the perfect start to your hike.

As you continue your hike along the coast, you will come across several picturesque bays. First is Tjuvahålan, a small bay that was a landing place for smugglers in the late 18th century. Take a break here and enjoy the tranquil atmosphere. The next stop is Svärjarehålan, a charming, quiet bay that also offers an accessible swimming area.

Further along the trail you come to Grötvik, a place with a rich quarrying history that lends a unique character to the area. Grötvik boasts a picturesque harbour, Halmstad Wakepark and an art museum dedicated to Walter Bengtsson.

After Grötvik you pass Simstadion Brottet, a popular open-air swimming pool with other recreational activities too. Major concerts are also held here in the summer. Not far from Brottet lies Alets nature reserve, an area that offers peace and quiet among the rich flora and fauna – a perfect place for nature lovers to explore and enjoy the beautiful setting.

You are now approaching Halmstad, following the trail along the Nissan river. This takes you past Halmstad Castle, a historic 17th-century building that gives an insight into the town’s rich history. The trail then crosses the castle bridge, which offers a great view of both the castle and the river.

Halmstad Resecentrum marks the end of the section, or the start if you prefer. From this central transport hub, you can easily travel onwards by train and bus.
