At Stensered a beautiful agricultural landscape expands in all directions, with appealing views of Lake Stensjön and the rolling open land at Näs. The areas through which the trail runs are old borderland areas, and the old national border between Sweden and Denmark ran through here. Many bitter battles were fought here, as several historical monuments attest. The trail passes the Kilan and Nissan river valleys. Be extremely cautious when crossing "Nissastigen", i.e. highway 26.
